This British documentary blows the whistle on Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest pork producer, exposing the corporation’s disturbing practices. It shows how eastern European, particularly Polish farmers are in essence being forced out of business by the company. The film, along with films such as Food Inc, shows the disconcerting trend of how agribusiness is taking over the world.
The film has not been released in the United States, mainly because Smithfield has threatened the director with litigation. Despite four legal letters from Smithfield, U.K.'s Channel 4 released the documentary. Unfortunately, no U.S. insurer would support the film's release in America.
